NPORS - Plant Training

MECsafe are an accredited training provider with instructors able to deliver training and testing for operators on industrial, construction and power work equipment. (See list below).

The NPORS operator registration card is produced for an individual who has successfully completed practical and knowledge assessments on the categories shown on the back of the card. This shows that they have achieved a level of competence to operate the item on the card. Where the individual has successfully attended a NPORS recognised health and safety course this can also be added to the back of the card.

NPORS UPDATE - 03.08.2016

NPORS are adopting the CSCS logo onto the NPORS Construction Operator Card. From 1st October 2016, this will mean: 

New Entrant
Candidates will complete basic training and testing, and register for an NVQ. They will then be issued with a 'Trained Operator' card, which will be valid for 2 years. During this 2 years, they will need to complete the NVQ AND complete their log book. Once complete the NVQ, they can apply for the 'Competent Operator' card, which will be valid for 5 years.

Existing NPORS Card Holders
Any existing card holders, who are not due for renewal, will be given the opportunity to apply for a 'transitional' card from mid Sept 2016.

If the operator does not hold the relevant NVQ for the categories held on their operator card they will be issued with a 'Trainer Operator' (2 year) card and will need to follow the same steps as the new entrants.

If the operator holds the relevant NVQ(s) for the categories listed on their card, then they can apply for the 'Competent Operator' (5 year) card.
