Who should attend?

This course is aimed at any person who under The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 is likely to encounter asbestos as part of their work and requires mandatory training. This includes construction and maintenance workers and others who may come into contact with or who may disturb asbestos. The regulations also include those who may be supervising such employees.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will be awarded an approved certificate, which is valid for one year.

FURTHER ASBESTOS COURSES INCLUDE:

Non Licensed

Persons requiring this type of training would include those whose work will knowingly disturb low risk asbestos containing materials, such as maintenance workers and their supervisors;and those who carry out asbestos sampling and analysis.

In addition to the Asbestos Awareness, those employees whose work will knowingly disturb ACMs, and which is defined as non-licensable work or NNLW, should receive additional task-specific information, instruction and training.

Licensed

This type of training is required for those holding a HSE Licence for carrying out work with or removing asbestos containing materials that are relatively high risk such as laggings, sprayed coatings and insulating board. This training is required for Operatives, Supervisors and Managers.

In addition to the Asbestos Awareness, those employees carrying out work defined as ‘licensable work’ should receive additional task-specific information, instruction and training.
